Storing Survival Kit Food

I don’t completely trust the packaging and want to make sure that while building my survival kit, my investment lasts, so I decided to put each of the food packages in a plastic tub. These 18 gallon plastic tubs are wonderful. They are small enough to be portable in case I need to get and move them quickly for an earthquake survival kit situation. They are also waterproof and will protect their contents in the event of a hurricane survival kit need.

Summary of Storing Survival Kit Food

I continued to be surprised at how useful these plastic tubs are. They provide a great ability to organize the contents of my survival kit list. They hold an astounding amount of survival kit supplies, are small enough that they can’t be loaded to weigh too much and they are waterproof.

Update 6/12

These tubs hold up so well for food storage in case of an emergency or other need for a survival kit!  I think these start off as a good first purchase for anyone building a survival kit since they hold so much, keep it safe and in shape, and are so easily transported.  To check out all of the different things you may want to keep in these tubs in addition to using them as food storage, see the posts on survival kit building.
