Consider that any natural disaster will probably be accompanied by either high winds or explosions. A simple dust mask in your survival gear will go a long way to helping you maintain your health.
If you have allergies or breathing problems, make sure you keep plenty of spares in the right shape and size for you if you need something a little more substantial for your emergency survival kit.

Looking back through my survival kit, this is one of those emergency essentials that really can be broader than your kit. Consider keeping a simple dusk mask or two in your car or office, just to be on the safe side. For something tremendously inexpensive, small, and easy to transport, it can be very helpful should disaster strike.
