Pigeons are big birds and my dog really got excited about the idea. It was actually great training just to have the dog sit and watch me while I handled the birds. They are also bigger than quail and very visible so they make good practice targets for quail hunting in Texas. This turned out to be more effort than I originally expected but probably worth it to be ready for Texas bird hunting.
