Container Garden Challenges

One of the biggest challenges with container gardening is having an ideal ratio of plants and sizes given the size of the planter boxes.

These two varieties of cucumbers appear to be spaced well within the planter boxes.

This combination of four tomato plants and a petter plant would probably do better in a raised bed garden.

These tomato plants are too tall for container gardening. I’ll make a better choice of variety next time.

This strawberry plant appears to be doing well in a container garden but I suspect that it is because it is ornamental. My wife’s raspberry sticks continue to be dormant in this planter box.

Spinach has turned out to be a very poor choice for a contain gardens – it definitely needs the space that a raised bed garden would provide.
