Bobwhite Quail Supplemental Feeding after Release

It was recommended that I supplement the feeding of the released quails. I purchased a nice looking feeder from Wildlife Management Technology which included a watering system similar to what they’d had in the Surrogator.

I also installed a Bushnell Game Camera to monitor the feeder.

There are different schools of thought on the water needs of wild quail bobwhite. Although this feeder has watering capabilities, via a five gallon bucket on top (not shown), I’ve elected not to install it due to potential raccoon problems.
Based on some advice I’d received, I poured the remaining chick food into the bobwhite quail feeder prior to adding scratch feed.
I’ve posted a game cam on the feeder to monitor the activity of the release birds returning to the feeder.
